Signal was set up by Luke Ellis in 2023 off the back of over 18 years worth of radio plugging experience, beginning at Rocket PR in Brixton before joining PIAS in 2015 as their first in-house plugger, being promoted to Head of Promotions 4 years later.

Over that time, he worked radio campaigns for a wide range of established, developing and heritage artists, including Aphex Twin, Pixies, Greentea Peng, Sleaford Mods, Daniel Avery, Ghostpoet, Katy J Pearson, Public Service Broadcasting, Röyksopp and Soulwax.
